Flora species native to the area add a pop of color to Michael J. Kirwan Dam and Reservoir’s landscape in Wayland, Ohio. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Pittsburgh District operates the reservoir to provide flood protection for the Mahoning River Valley and the Beaver and upper Ohio rivers. The recreation areas offer residents and visitors opportunities for fishing, hiking, boating, camping, picnicking and disc golf.
