Pittsburgh District website gets facelift on March 4

Published March 1, 2013

The Pittsburgh District website is undergoing a major facelift in order to become a clean, user friendly atmosphere for the public and our stakeholders. The change to the Department of Defense platform WILL AFFECT THE LOOK AND URL (WEB ADDRESS) OF ALL WEB PAGES WITHIN THE SITE, except for the home page, which remains www.lrp.usace.army.mil.

The transition to this new platform for all Corps of Engineers districts and laboratories is a money saving measure which also provides uniformity in web branding and information location. The new website is scheduled to transition and go live on the evening of Monday, March 4.

On the new site, there are links to the most commonly requested pages under the “How do I” section (lower left of home page) that mirror the links on the old web site. Additionally, if you hover with your mouse over the items on the top menu bar, sub-menus with links directly to pages will pop up.

Our website is very popular for finding information about reservoir, river, creek and stream water levels, flood preparedness, river lock schedules, wetland permitting and regulatory issues, Freedom of Information Act requests, public notices, navigation notices and charts, construction projects, environmental studies, recreation on and around our lakes and rivers, water safety tips, small business opportunities, etc., plus general information about and the history of the Corps of Engineers in Pittsburgh.

Individuals who can’t find what they’re looking may call us at 412-395-7118 or 412-395-7500, email us at lrp.webinquiries@usace.army.mil, or post a message on our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/PittsburghUSACE.

Remember, the change takes effect on March 4.
