    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Pittsburgh District is alerting mariners, anglers and other river users that warning buoys marking restricted areas at our navigation facilities may not be in place due to recent high water.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Pittsburgh District is alerting mariners that scheduled repairs at Monongahela River Lock and Dam 4 at Charleroi will close the river to navigation from 12 a.m., May 15 through 11:59 p.m., June 16.
  • Waterway groups gather for first LockFest!

    The Pittsburgh District and its waterways partners are hosting the first ever water safety LockFest 2017. At the event, attendees will learn how to lock through navigation facilities and watch live locking demonstrations, discover water safety tips, talk to tow operators, brush up on boating regulations, and gain knowledge on how to navigate our rivers safely. Bobber, the Water Safety Dog will attend and exhibits from our partners will be available.
  • Flood Proofing Workshops in Three Western PA Locations

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Pittsburgh District Silver Jackets team and Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency will host three, regional, nonstructural workshops in the Western Pennsylvania area for the purpose of achieving community flood risk reduction and awareness. The workshops are scheduled to be held in Pittsburgh, Butler and Erie, Pa., on April 4, 5 and 6, respectively.
  • Crooked Creek Lake Pavilion Reservation Change

    Effective for the 2017 recreation season at Crooked Creek, the park office will no longer process pavilion reservation. Reservations can only be made through the National Recreation Reservation System in two ways, online at recreation.gov or by calling (877)444-6777.
