Cleaning up for East Branch Reopening
Nathan Wilson, maintenance worker for the East Branch Clarion River Lake, drives a backhoe during a cleanup of campgrounds and visitor areas at the project in Wilcox, Pennsylvania, May 26, 2021, for the dam's grand reopening. The ceremony celebrates the completion of the $250 million, East Branch Clarion River Dam Safety Modification project. The project began in 2014 and consisted of constructing a 2200 linear feet cutoff wall that penetrates up to 250 feet down through the middle of the earthen dam.
