The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Pittsburgh District announced today that it has reopened the visitor’s parking lot, restrooms, picnic area and visitors center at the Kinzua Dam at the Allegheny River Reservoir.

The Army Corps closed the areas after law enforcement officials informed the agency of an unspecified threat involving Kinzua Dam.

The Army Corps takes its commitment to protect public health and safety seriously and will implement appropriate measures when aware of increased risk. This includes actions that involve information security and physical security.

We appreciate the public's assistance in meeting this goal by reporting any suspicious activity to the project staff or 911. Individuals may also contact the See Something, Say Something Corps Watch Hotline, 1-866-413-7970.

We appreciate the public's patience as we’ve managed this issue.
