Loyalhanna Lake -  Bush Recreation Camping Area & Boat Launch Closed

A severe storm on Sunday, May 27, downed power lines and numerous large trees at the Loyalhanna Lake Bush Recreation Area Camping Area located off PA Route 981, Saltsburg, Pa. As a result of this storm, the camping area is currently closed due to public safety concerns. U.S. Army Corps of Engineers maintenance staffs are removing downed trees, restoring roads, parking areas and campsites. It is anticipated that these clean-up efforts will be completed by Thursday, May 31, and the camping area will open on Friday, 1 June.

Additionally, the Bush Recreation Area Boat Launching Ramp was closed on Tuesday, May 29, as a result of high pools and flooding of the boat ramp. This rise in water resulted in unsafe conditions for boaters including floating debris and submerged hazards. The boat launch will open as soon as water levels recede to safe conditions and cleanup efforts are completed.
