Emsworth Locks and Dam celebrates centennial anniversary
In September 1921, 100 years ago, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Pittsburgh District opened Emsworth Locks and Dam located along the Ohio River in Emsworth, Pennsylvania, and placed it into operation.

Berlin Lake seeks public input on master plan updates
PITTSBURGH – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Pittsburgh District is seeking community feedback regarding proposed changes to the Berlin Lake Master Plan and will hold a 30-day public comment period beginning Sept. 27 and closing Oct. 27. The master plan update, based on previously collected-community feedback, will affect the future management of recreational activities and natural resource use at Berlin Lake for the next 25 years.

Pittsburgh District performs controlled releases to manage water levels from Hurricane Ida
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Pittsburgh District is informing the public that due to recent and anticipated rainfall from Hurricane Ida, water levels along the Cheat, Monongahela, Ohio and Youghiogheny rivers will be higher than normal and are expected to remain so throughout Labor Day weekend.

Corps to conduct CERCLA five-year review at SLDA
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Pittsburgh District will conduct a five-year review of the selected remedy for the Shallow Land Disposal Area (SLDA) Formerly Utilized Sites Remedial Action Program (FUSRAP) Site per the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA).
