  • Pittsburgh District to partner with Allegheny County Sanitary Authority for $4.3 million project

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Pittsburgh District will sign a partnership agreement with the Allegheny County Sanitary Authority (ALCOSAN) to construct a grit chamber along Spring Garden as part of a $4.3 million environmental infrastructure project in Pittsburgh, Jan. 11.
  • Mosquito Creek Lake seeks public input on master plan revisions

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Pittsburgh District seeks community feedback regarding proposed changes to the Mosquito Creek Lake Master Plan and will host a 30-day public comment period from May 16 to June 15. The master plan update is modeled on previously collected-community feedback. It will affect the future management of the recreational activities and natural resource use at Mosquito Creek Lake for the next 25 years.
  • Pittsburgh District and city of Paden City partner for $2 million project

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Pittsburgh District entered a partnership agreement with the city of Paden City, West Virginia, to upgrade sanitary sewer collection and treatment facilities as part of a $2 million Section 219 Environmental Infrastructure project, Thursday, Jan. 6.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Pittsburgh District is conducting a feasibility study on the Tar Pamlico River Basin and will host a series of virtual public involvement meetings to gather community input on the feasibility study. The meetings are organized by geographic region and held from March 22 to 31.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is hosting a virtual meeting about the Tygart Lake Master and Shoreline Management Plans updates. The corps is seeking public feedback on the proposed changes to the management of the lake based on public input collected in August 2018.

  • Corps to sample and analyze groundwater at SLDA

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Pittsburgh District will be collecting and subsequently analyzing groundwater samples from the Shallow Land Disposal Area site beginning Monday, June 27. The sampling should take approximately three days and three months for the completed analysis.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Pittsburgh District has released a Notice of Availability and Proposed Record of Decision Amendment for the Shallow Land Disposal Area (SLDA) in Parks Township, Armstrong County, Pennsylvania. The Proposed ROD Amendment document is available for public comment from January 5, 2014 until February 4, 2015 and may be viewed at http://1.usa.gov/1xvZrBH
