    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Pittsburgh District is notifying recreational boaters that the upper Allegheny River and the upper Monongahela River locks will be open this summer during specific dates and times.
  • Corps invites public to Lockfest 2019 at Emsworth Locks and Dams

    Pittsburgh District and its waterways partners are hosting the third annual water safety – Lockfest 2019 event. At the events, attendees will learn how to lock through navigation facilities and watch live locking demonstrations, discover water safety tips, talk to tow operators, brush up on boating regulations and gain knowledge on how to navigate our rivers safely.

    The Pittsburgh District is hosting a public tour of the East Branch Dam Safety Initiative to include the seepage cutoff wall construction site. The purpose is to provide the public an update on the construction progress and the opportunity to meet the project and lake staff and to see the integral features of work such as cutoff wall construction and monitoring devices.
