Lock Service Levels

The US Army Corps of Engineers is assessing current and future service reductions at low-use facilities on our nation's inland waterways. The plan consists of identification and implementation of changes to the operating service level for locks and dams in accordance with the Inland Marine Transportation System guidelines. The plan consists of a nation-wide uniform and consistent approach in evaluating appropriate levels of service at the navigation locks and will include stakeholder input from elected officials, commercial interests, navigation industry and recreational interests.
