Progress Update

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Pittsburgh District is revising both the Tygart Lake Master Plan and Shoreline Management Plan. The Master Plan guides the use of government-owned and leased lands around the lake. The Shoreline Management Plan aims to protect and manage the shoreline in a way that promotes safe and healthful use, while maintaining environmental safeguards to ensure a quality resource for use by the public.

Update (as of March 17, 2020): With your help, we have completed our scoping phase and have prepared a draft updated Master Plan, Shoreline Management Plan, and combined Environmental Assessment (EA), which are now ready for public review.

Review the documents posted to the website to see what changes we are recommending for Tygart Lake or view the slides presented at the 17 March 2020 virtual public meeting (found in the section below). You're invited to submit a public comment period on those documents by April 24, 2020.
